ChatGPT; Who is in your marketing department now?

As CEO, COO or CMO of a company, it’s your job to anticipate the needs of your customers and to ensure that you have the right products and services to meet those needs. But what happens when those needs change? When the products and services that you offer are no longer relevant?

You need to be able to adapt.

The same is true of your employees. In a rapidly changing world, they need to be able to adapt too. They need to be able to learn new skills and new ways of working.

That’s why soft skills such as digital readiness, adaptability, teamwork, and creativity are often more important than hard skills when it comes to predicting job success.

Of course, this isn’t the first time questions about the future of technology and the job economy have been raised. Every 50 years or so, a new invention makes some practices and tools obsolete. (Think about how the automobile affected the horse and carriage industry.)

So what’s the next big thing? What will make media jobs across the board — including those in advertising, technical writing, journalism, and any role that involves content creation — obsolete?

Some say it’s ChatGPT.

ChatGPT is a machine learning platform that can generate realistic conversations. It’s been trained on millions of real-life conversations and can replicate them with uncanny accuracy.

So what does this mean for media jobs? Well, if ChatGPT can generate realistic conversations, then it stands to reason that it can also generate realistic content. And if it can generate realistic content, then there’s a good chance that it will eventually be able to do so better than humans can.

So what does this mean for media jobs? They’re at risk of being replaced by machines.

Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard this story. We’ve heard it before with other technologies like cars and horses. And each time, people have found new jobs and new ways to work. So there’s no need to panic just yet. But it is important to be aware of the changes that are happening and to start thinking about how you might need to adapt in order to stay ahead of the curve.

The skills required for successful marketing jobs are changing. With the rise of ChatGPT, soft skills such as digital readiness, adaptability, teamwork, and creativity are becoming increasingly important.

As technology advances, attracting and retaining talent is becoming increasingly difficult/competitive. Some employers are offering big salaries and signing bonuses to attract talent, while others say this isn’t sustainable. A new game plan to address these challenges is required.

We’re focused on attracting and retaining the best talent.
