Senior Director Marketing & Communications Insurance Products

OVERVIEW:

This Senior Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for leading all marketing and communication activities. This role will plan and implement marketing, sales enablement and product development programs that drive visibility and awareness of the brand and help the company meet its sales and business objectives. 

DAY-To-DAY’s 

• Design and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to create awareness of the company’s business activities 

• Develop marketing plans and execute on day-to-day marketing activities 

• Lead sales enablement activities to give the sales team a competitive advantage, including the development of sales presentation decks, collateral, email marketing campaigns, newsletters, and metrics 

• Manage overall marketing operating budget 

• Manage the marketing team to ensure employee success 

• Become a steward of the brand by maintaining a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials and events 

• Work with internal subject matter experts to develop marketing content and thought leadership pieces (white papers, conference presentations, newsletters, etc.) 

• Grow the company’s footprint across a variety of marketing assets, including but not limited to: online, print, video, direct mail, etc. 

• Manage public relations activities, including media outreach and speaking opportunities by establishing and maintaining relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners. 

• Oversee event sponsorship and planning (such as our annual company meeting and key industry conferences), including working with vendors, event coordinators, and design teams for on-site agendas, meals, special events, collateral, as well as preparing presenters for speaking opportunities as appropriate 

• Conduct market research and monitor competitor products, sales and marketing activities 

• Manage website content, management and analytics 

• Develop and implement an industry marketing strategy 

• Oversee advertising, creative design and promotional items 

• Manage Social Media channels 

• Work with account teams and managing directors to communicate with clients and prospects as appropriate 

• May include other duties as assigned. 

ABOUT YOU:

• Bachelors’ degree required 

• Minimum 12+ years of experience as a professional services marketing leader, preferably in employee benefits, group insurance, consulting or other B2B environment, with experience in dealing with Fortune 1000 companies 

• Experience leading all aspects of a well-rounded marketing function, including sales enablement, Public relations, Branding and creative, Market research, Events management. 

• Deep understanding of current and online marketing techniques and best practices 

• Experience in public relations, including media positioning, social media content and brand management 

• Strong project management skills, with the ability to ensure project expectations, deadlines and goals are both effectively communicated to the client and met with satisfaction 

• Ability to build partnerships and establish credibility at all levels of the organization and with clients and vendors through confident interpersonal, verbal and written communications and presentations 

• Ability to work in a collaborative and consultative fashion with other department heads as an advisor to improve efficiency and effectiveness 

• Self-directed with positive drive and approach, including the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a dynamic team in a virtual working environment 

• Strong attention to detail with highly developed organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and manage strict deadline and turnaround time requirements 

• Strong business acumen and experience working with senior leaders 

• A creative thinker with strong analytical, writing and communication skills 

• The ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications 

• Knowledge of web analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, WebTrends etc.) and Google 

• Some travel required as necessary
