Position Overview: As the Marketing Director for Philanthropic Initiatives, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing marketing strategies to enhance our organization’s impact. This position reports directly to the C-level executive team and requires a visionary leader with over 10 years of experience in philanthropic marketing, specifically across digital channels and collaboration with fundraising executives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Marketing: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with philanthropic goals, focusing on brand development, audience awareness, and market presence.
  2. Collaboration: Work closely with major fundraising executives internally to align marketing efforts with fundraising objectives and ensure cohesive communication strategies.
  3. Brand Development: Drive the development and maintenance of a strong and impactful brand presence for all philanthropic initiatives.
  4. Digital Channels: Lead digital marketing efforts, leveraging online platforms to maximize reach and engagement. Utilize analytics to measure and optimize digital marketing performance.
  5. PR and Media Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets. Oversee public relations strategies to enhance the organization’s visibility and positive public image.
  6. Events and Conferences: Plan and execute philanthropic events, conferences, and engagements. Ensure events align with organizational goals and contribute to increased awareness and support.
  7. Partnership Development: Collaborate with local cause-related partners to build meaningful and strategic alliances that further the organization’s philanthropic impact.
  8. Footprint Development: Work towards expanding the organization’s footprint in the philanthropic space through targeted initiatives and partnerships.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in philanthropic marketing, with a proven track record of success in developing and implementing impactful marketing strategies.
  2. Digital Expertise: Strong expertise in leveraging digital channels for marketing purposes, including social media, email campaigns, and online platforms.
  3. Fundraising Collaboration: Experience partnering with major fundraising executives to align marketing strategies with fundraising goals.
  4. Philanthropic Vision: A visionary leader with a deep understanding of and passion for philanthropy, demonstrated through past successful initiatives.
  5. Event Management: Proven experience in planning and executing successful events and conferences.
  6. Local Presence: Ability to work in downtown Boston, being in the office two to three days per week.
