We’re hiring a Head of Account Management – software development, large automotive dealerships to lead a high-growth team serving large automotive dealerships through our innovative SaaS platform. This is a hybrid leadership role—Midwest-based candidates preferred—ideal for someone who knows the inner workings of software development for the automotive industry and has a proven ability to scale teams, drive retention, and deliver expansion revenue.


The Opportunity

Join a scaling software company transforming how automotive dealerships leverage technology. We’re seeking a seasoned, strategic, and hands-on leader to manage and grow our Account Management team. You’ll play a critical role in customer retention, upsell/cross-sell growth, and ensuring client success across enterprise accounts.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Vision

  • Own the account management strategy, with a laser focus on retention, expansion, and customer advocacy.

  • Define and report on KPIs such as gross/net retention, CLTV, and product adoption.

  • Align with Sales, Product, and Marketing to ensure a seamless, value-driven customer experience.

  • Optimize workflows through tools, best practices, and account management methodologies.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Build and lead a team of top-performing Account Managers.

  • Coach and mentor to promote a culture of growth, accountability, and collaboration.

  • Set clear KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and manage team development.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Oversee customer lifecycle: onboarding → engagement → renewal → expansion.

  • Strengthen executive relationships across strategic accounts.

  • Proactively identify churn risks and implement retention plans.

  • Act as an executive escalation point for high-impact client issues.

Revenue Growth & Expansion

  • Identify and capitalize on upsell/cross-sell opportunities.

  • Partner with Sales on expansion strategies within major dealership accounts.

  • Lead renewals, ensuring favorable outcomes and long-term loyalty.

Operational Excellence

  • Use CRM tools like Salesforce to track account health and interactions.

  • Contribute to the design of customer dashboards and reporting frameworks.

  • Support marketing initiatives such as case studies, referrals, and testimonials.


Who You Are

  • 5+ years in B2B SaaS Account Management, with 2+ years in a leadership capacity.

  • Deep experience working with enterprise automotive dealership clients.

  • Strong understanding of SaaS metrics: ARR, churn, NRR, CLTV.

  • Experience growing and mentoring teams in high-growth environments.

  • Excellent communicator and executive relationship builder.

  • Data-driven with strong problem-solving and strategic planning skills.

  • Proficient in Salesforce or equivalent CRM platforms.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
